Sensor Polling interval in Tasmota and sending over MQTT

+

Feb 23, 2021· From the docs, for me seems that Teleperiod is applicable mainly for the MQTT. Still I am trying to understand what is the mechanism Tasmota uses to poll the sensors and update the status of each sensor is it based on time interval every 1 or 5 seconds for example and is it possible to be controlled somehow.

DIY Temp Humidity sensor : tasmota

+

Yup it''s that easy. I have a bunch like that around. One thing to be aware of if you put this in a case/box is the heat from the Wemos can affect the reading of the BME280, so you want to place the Wemos above the sensor and have some vents in the bottom and top or sides of the box so air can flow through.

PIR Motion Sensors Tasmota

+

PIR Motion Sensors. PIR motion sensors, albeit called sensors, are configured as switches in Tasmota since they basically report motion ( 1) or no motion ( 0) to the device. Most PIR''s are single wire and they require connecting to VCC, GND and one GPIO. In this guide we will use GPIO13 as the pin that the PIR output is connected to.

Grove Gas Sensor(MQ2) Seeed Wiki

+

The Grove Gas Sensor (MQ2) module is useful for gas leakage detection (home and industry). It is suitable for detecting H2, LPG, CH4, CO, Alcohol, Smoke or Propane. Due to its high sensitivity and fast response time, measurement can be taken as soon as possible. The sensitivity of the sensor can be adjusted by potentiometer.

For this I was looking at using a NodeMCU, a MQ4, a MQ7 and a MQ135 along with some other things and having it report back to HA via MQTT. Reason being for multiple sensors is one will pop on CO2 or CH4, one is mainly for CH4 and the other is smoke. Granted these don’t replace the standard commercial smoke and gas sensors in the house but ...
